On Friday I had the perfect flight out of Ithaca airport. I’ve never flown out of Ithaca before (always out of Syracuse or Binghamton previously), but I chose the perfect day to do so. I had a window seat and it was a perfectly clear day out, which meant that for a few minutes I had a beautiful aerial view of Cayuga Lake.
Living in Ithaca, I really take for granted the beauty of the lake, but seeing it from this new angle reminded me that indeed, Ithaca is Gorges (heheh).
Unfortunately I was not able to take out my camera (no electronics during take-off), but here’s an aerial image of Cayuga Lake provided by the Cornell press office. Of course it’s more focused on the campus rather than the lake, but it’s still quite stunning.
